Who has access to my records? / How secure is my data?

Who has access to your records?
Just as with your current paper-based system, only your physicians and authorized support staff will have access to your records.

How Secure is my data?
At Medial Health, we prioritize the security of your data with advanced password encryption and rigorous safety standards, making our digital solutions far more secure than traditional paper records stored in a facility. We pride ourselves on three key pillars of accredited security:

Accredited Excellence: Our practices comply with HIPAA and HL7 guidelines, alongside international data protection laws, ensuring global compliance and the utmost confidentiality of medical information.

Accredited Security: We utilize the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for hosting, which includes state-of-the-art encryption methods such as Transport Layer Security (TLS) for data in transit and AES-256 for data at rest. Regular software updates further safeguard against vulnerabilities.

Accredited Validation: Our commitment to security excellence is demonstrated through the integration of compliance automation tools and continuous enhancements to our security protocols, setting a superior standard for data protection in the healthcare industry.Ultimately, the choice is yours!

How can I get a copy of my records?

Your contacts, support information, and records can be downloaded in your preferred format (PDF, XLSX, or CSV) and transferred through the data transfer method of your choice.

What happens if I no longer want to use the platform?

To download your data, please contact our sales department. They will assist you in securely retrieving your information according to your preferences. Once your data is transferred, Medial will completely remove your instance from our infrastructure.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored on the google cloud platform.

What is a cloud?
Cloud storage is a service model that allows data to be stored on remote servers, accessed via the internet, rather than on local hard drives or on-premise servers. These remote servers are managed and maintained by third-party cloud storage providers, such as Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure.

Key features of cloud storage include:

1. Accessibility: Data stored in the cloud can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection, making it convenient for users and businesses.
2. Scalability: Cloud storage can easily scale up or down depending on your storage needs, without the need for physical infrastructure changes.
3. Cost-Effectiveness: Instead of buying and maintaining physical servers, you pay for the amount of storage you use, often as a subscription service.
4. Data Backup and Recovery: Cloud storage providers often include backup and disaster recovery options, ensuring your data is safe and recoverable.
5. Collaboration: Multiple users can access and work on files stored in the cloud simultaneously, enhancing collaboration.
